About the Role
As we embark on a pivotal journey towards becoming a listed entity within the next three years, we are building a strong Finance team to help steer the company through this transformative era. The Senior Accountant at 1GLOBAL will own core accounting functions while getting genuine exposure to the technical and cross-functional work that shapes a growing global business, with real scope to take on special projects and technical accounting topics as they prove themselves. This role will be located in Lisbon, and will report into the Deputy Group controller. This role also offers close proximity to senior finance leadership and the wider group team. About the Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Prepare financial statements for a number of entities
- Support wholesale cost calculations as part of month-end close
- Provide support in worldwide audits, collaborating with various teams and external partners
- Assist in finance automation projects, identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Oversee the automated cash reconciliation process, ensuring its efficiency and reliability
- Gain exposure to IFRS 16 lease accounting as part of the close process
- Improve processes for the finance team to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
